Doesn't work with iphone xs max... this is not mentioned and Rufus AI answer is incorrect. UPDATE: I'm updating to 4 stars because the watch itself is fine. No issues. I ended up keeping it for myself and upgrading to an iphone 14 plus. I'm still disappointed this gift for my mother ended up costing me a lot more money because there was no mention of this watch not working with iphone xs max, but I'm happy with the watch now that I can use it. I gave my Apple watch series 9 to my mom to use with her old iphone.***The watch seems okay on the outside (no visible issues) and it arrived faster than expected, but I cannot pair it with the iphone so I cannot test to make sure it works properly.When I purchased this watch, I never saw any mention of on the product page that the watch must be paired with an iphone 11 or later. It's my mistake for not doing more research before purchasing this watch, but the Rufus AI chat on Amazon's website says the Apple Watch series 11 will pair with iphone xs max. This appears to be incorrect.When the watch did not pair, I wasted a lot of time trying to watch videos on the Amazon website to troubleshoot this, but finally gave up and did an outside search where I learned series 11 watches won't work with iphone xs max. So.... for anyone with an older phone like the xs max, be warned that this watch will not work!I bought this for my elderly mom to track some health concerns. I have a series 9 watch and decided if she didn't like the watch, I'd just take her series 11 watch and sell the series 9.
