I’ve used smart lightbulbs since its early days many years ago. Back then, they could only be connected through a special hub. Nowadays these new smart bulbs can be connected directly to your wifi and controlled by app. No special hubs required and they can be controlled remotely no matter where you are. These TPLink smart bulbs are easy to program, easy to use, and good price too.

I read all reviews and decided to purchase a 4 pack. I am glad I did: not using Alexia or any voice system, just and application. The 2 smart bulbs I am using work as advertised and is nice to have programmable lighting especially when returning home late night and lighting is relaxing after a tension filled workday/night. I have had no connections issues as some reviewer's state.
One thing to keep in mind is to keep the light switch turned on and use the app to turn off. Otherwise, there is an indication that the bulb cannot be connected since it uses home Wi-Fi for control.

I recommend this item and will purchase for friends and family I think would appreciate its functions.

Good Matter support, but weak brightness unless set to ~2700K

I use Apple Home for automation and have a home hub. These Matter-certified bulbs work well with Apple Home and paired instantly in the Home app just by scanning the QR code. So far, on the first day of use, they appear to be totally reliable with Apple Home and work well. The setup was ultra smooth and easy, like all other Matter-certified devices I've added to Apple Home.

There are a few cons, though:
1. The brightness of the bulbs is pretty weak for a 75W-equivalent bulb. At ~2700K, they are at their brightest and somewhere between 60W and 75W. However, when switching to a daylight temperature like 4000K-5000K they are a good bit dimmer… definitely not over 60W-equivalent, possibly less. And for raw colors, they are drastically dimmer, but colors are just a nighttime gimmick anyways and I don't care about that; I only want to adjust color temperature throughout the day. My big issue is that the daylight temperatures feel dim.
2. Some white-range colors are way off with the Apple Home app. Certain near-daylight colors are rendered by the bulb as bright orange, while other smart lights I have render them correctly. It's not a total dealbreaker as I just adjusted the color swatch to something the bulb can handle, but I was surprised by this.
3. For some reason, the Matter QR code is not printed directly on the bulb base, just the ID number. There are QR code stickers included in the box, but this really should have been printed on the bulb itself. I will probably lose track of these stickers in the future, and it will be more complicated trying to re-pair them then, since the Apple Home app wants to scan a QR code.

Seems like a good budget bulb that's reliable, but I'm still on the fence about returning these and just paying up for the Hue bulbs. Overall, my main complaint is the brightness level at daylight temperatures.

Yeah don't waste money on those ones you get at dollar general or stores like that. This has great brightness, you can change it to any color you want, it has settings where you can sync it to music I think (haven't tried that feature yet) and the app is pretty good, just wish it had even more nifty features or customizations.

Bought this bulb to use it in my desktop lamp so I can have the full range RGB colors + cold and warm light when I work and I’m just amazed on how easy was the setup, the perfect sync with the Tapo application and the lumens it has, which are brighter enough for a desktop light. The schedule setting are a great addition and I can set up a cozy ambience for the bedroom. A must have!

Still Using Three Years Down the Road

Lots of color changing bulbs on the market, most of them low quality and they don’t last long. Other smart bulbs are expensive and it’s not financially feasible to fill a whole house with them.

This bulb has some issues but, I’m relatively happy with it. The bulb runs on the WiFi and can be easily adjusted using the Kasa app on your smartphone. The bulb is bright and will light up a room easily. It’s wonderful to be able to adjust the color and light level from the comfort of your phone, no matter where you are.

Of course, not every smart light is without issue. Often times the app will not find or connect to the bulb, during the entire time I have had it, and sometimes the bulb will randomly change to another color. I use the bulb for multiple hours every day and so far it hasn’t gone out.

These devices are everything that WEMO is not. Reliable, easy to setup, and run by an app that works well and is frequently updated with new features. CRI on the these bulbs are amazing for the price especially when compared to the reliability issues with LIFX bulbs. Really wish TP Link had started building devices earlier so I wouldn't have waste my money on these other iot companies.

Purchased 2 bulbs in the summer, after a month bought another 2 bulbs. Just bought 2 more. These bulbs work great and I love that you can select the colour so easily, and can preset your favourite colours. The preset yellow is warm and cozy and feels like an old school incandescent bulb. The app is very simple to use. We’ve been using it in an empty home to amazing success. The app allows you to schedule on and off times as well as away mode. Away mode is my favourite feature. You select the time the mode starts and stops, you can select as many or as few days of the week that you want. The light will turn on and off randomly to create an appearance someone is home. Total upgrade from those old timer plugs we used to use. I can’t recommend this product more. So far zero issues. It’s really simple, and if you want to use the Tapo cameras as well, they are also in the same app. Love that a hub isn’t required. The app also allows you to name each bulb (and camera)

Recomiendo mucho estos focos si estas buscando algo de las 3B: bueno, bonito y barato. Definitivamente creo que hay focos inteligentes muchísimos mejores, pero los tapo por la relación calidad-precio, están muy bien.

No cuento con Alexa así que no podría dar una opinión sobre si funcionan bien o no con ese aparato, lo que si es que con la app de Tapo son muy fáciles de usar, puedes ponerle las opciones de colores que te da, o personalizarlos, también tiene una función para programar el encendido y apagado de los focos y puedes apagarlos y prenderlos desde la app.

Lo único que no me gusto tanto es que no son tan brillantes como esperaba, en habitaciones amplias no iluminan tan bien que digamos, pero por lo que cuestan, es bastante esperado.
