Update: Since I had very bad luck with the tempered glass screen protector I asked the company about how much the different cases provided protection for the screen. (I mean that is what breaks 99 percent of the time). They answered that they don't make a folio case. Which I think means that since they don't offer a case that closes over the screen the raised bezel edge in front may provide minimal protection for the screen. I am keeping this 5 stars but I have got to figure out how to get some screen protection still.
I had this companies cases for my last two phones and loved them. This one is a level or two up from my last in terms of protection but given my circumstances thought I wouId give it a try. I had the Monarch on my last Samsung phone and apparently this year's Samsung version is a bit bigger. I thought this one was too tight in my pocket, but it is the increase in the phone size, not the case.
I ordered both the Monarch and the Civilian because I was hoping to get a smaller case to fit more easily in my pocket. Well the Monarch is almost identical in bulk, this one just has more bumpers around the corner and a different back design. The Civilian I loved and had the screen protector I ordered worked I might have considered keeping it. There isn't the texture on the side and the edge around the side of the phone is more flush to the phone. As I am most likely to drop my phone face down on concrete I was a bit concerned that there wasn't enough bumper around the front.
The case from Samsung that was supposed to be protective on my last phone was a piece of junk (although it sure was pretty) and the ones offered this year are not improvements. Having paid $300. for a new screen I now know to get some insurance and use this companies products!
My circumstances may be a bit unique. I have nerve damage to my hand, meaning I can't feel the ends of 5 of my fingers. I also have severe arthritis in my hands. In other words I drop stuff all the blasted time. As I am convinced if I stop moving I will literally be unable to move, I hike and walk a lot. (Over 800 miles just on the dog's walks last year.) While I wish I could always walk on a dirt trail, I live in a city which means the vast majority of my walks are on sidewalks. We do al ot of hiking in state parks but still day to day it is concrete. I take photos of the crazy dogs, the sky, flowers and trails as well as listening to books, music or podcasts so am taking my phone out of my pocket all the time. Two dog leashes coupled with a cane in the other hand.....okay you can see why I need this much protection for my phone. I appreciate any product that makes it easier for me to stay active and keep moving. This phone case does an admirable job in that regard.
Add to that the battery is actually charging on the wireless charger which is not a given with other cases I have had makes me love it even more.
As a repeat customer, I can truthfully say that this case is without question one of the best one on the market. It also looks a bit like the carbon fiber in my car not that should matter!

Overall this is a solid case for your $1000 phone. The design is sharp, the product is sturdy, but my only fault with this case (I have the special edition Kevlar green/orange) is that the black corner edges have already started to wear (to a whitish/ashy) color. I have not had this happen to any of my other phone cases (I used to use Spigen and Otterbox previously for years.) This being my first time venturing beyond Spigen and Otterbox, I never had the black part wear (from pocket use) like this one. So of course, I'm quite disappointed considering I went out on a limb for the extra cost of this case I expected better. Do not misunderstand, the case does its job protecting the phone, but just wears prematurely compared to other cases - and only the black rubber/silicone part, not the metal.UPDATE - I reached out to UAG and sent them pictures of the wear. They immediately informed me that this is covered under warranty and that they will send me a replacement. I was notified this morning that the replacement is on its way. I raised my review another star for excellent customer service! Let's just hope that this wear was a fluke and the new one won't be affected by normal wear from in and out of pockets.

I was notified this morning that the replacement is on its way. I raised my review another star for excellent customer service! Let's just hope that this wear was a fluke and the new one won't be affected by normal wear from in and out of pockets.

OK so now the review, there is slight wear around the middle of the magnet (see first picture) as I always use the Lamicall magnet ring holder. I also have a magnetic battery pack I use as well when I'll be out most of the day hiking or exploring the woods. One part of the Kevlar looks like it's frayed and coming out a bit, see second picture. I think that was caused from me cleaning it. And yes I tried my best to clean the case before taking these pictures but dust just appears and can't be helped. The dust around inside the UAG letters is not noticeable, but it is when taking pictures apparently.
The magnetic strength of this case is good and both magnet accessories I have are on tight and won't come off easily. I have used my s-pen with and without a magnet accessory and there are no issues when using it. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging works without issues (of course without a magnet accessory attached). The buttons are nice but I actually prefer the buttons on the ringke fusion-x better (more clicky and larger, power button is easier to feel out to) . This case has a nice feel in the hands and its my heaviest feeling case, but then again this case is made of several layers and is definitely my most protective case I own. The front lips are nice and the corners are padded well. It's nice and grippy on the sides, paired with my magnetic ring I barley drop it. I have dropped my phone twice total so far since owning it and both times it had this case on. No damage to my phone or glass screen protector. All the cutouts are nice, no issues with plugging anything in the usb-c slot. Only draw back to this case is the price then the buttons. Don't get me wrong the buttons are good, but when comparing it to the ones on the ringke fusion-x its second best (spigen ultra hybrid buttons are meh and is in third place for buttons lol).
I attached several pictures to show what it's like with this case. I have the "red" galaxy s23 ultra and wish the phone was darker red to match the nice red inserts this case has. If you have the budget I would recommend this case. But if you want something cheaper, I would suggest to look somewhere else. In my opinion this case shouldn't be more than $80 CAD (paid $115 or so for it :/ )
