Eagle-eyed visitors to Samsung’s Argentinian website recently stumbled upon a delightful surprise – a product page unveiling new Galaxy Buds FE earbuds, complete with images showcasing a Galaxy S23 FE smartphone and Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablet.
This revelation, as discovered by SamMobile, suggests that Samsung has unintentionally leaked its latest Fan Edition devices. Intriguingly, one of the smartphone images displays the date October 4 on the device, possibly hinting at an upcoming announcement or release date.
Although specifics about the phone and tablet remain undisclosed by the company, both the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE were mentioned by name on the product page. This is as close to an official announcement as Samsung can get without a formal press release or an Unpacked event.
The product page, which has since been taken down, did offer some insights into the Galaxy Buds FE, marking Samsung’s maiden venture into Fan Edition earbuds. These earbuds are expected to feature a single 12mm driver, with each earbud equipped with three microphones to enhance the active noise cancellation function. Additionally, they boast a three-way speaker setup.
Samsung’s Fan Edition devices have consistently garnered popularity over the years, typically offering robust features at a more affordable price point compared to the company’s flagship models. It’s safe to assume that many consumers are eagerly anticipating the release of this year’s FE devices.
While the leak may have been an accidental oversight, it’s worth considering the possibility that Samsung deliberately teased its latest FE devices ahead of an official announcement. In today’s competitive landscape, major hardware companies vie for consumer attention, often dropping teasers before their scheduled events.
For instance, just before Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 lineup last week, Google provided glimpses of its Pixel 8 and Pixel Watch 2 devices, despite Google’s Pixel event not taking place until October. Thus, it’s plausible that Samsung strategically chose this leak to generate headlines (a tactic that seemingly succeeded).
However, the more probable scenario is that it was an inadvertent blunder on Samsung’s part. While not as dramatic as this week’s colossal Xbox leak, one would expect Samsung to exercise more caution in such matters by now.
